What To Expect
Fleming Vigna Balmer is located in the Bramalea Medical Centre which has ample free parking and is also easily accessible by local transit. Our building is wheel chair accessible; there is a small food kiosk on the main floor which sells drinks, snacks and light meals. There is also a Pharma-Plus drug store near the elevators.
We ask that you arrive approximately fifteen minutes early for your first appointment in order to complete several forms which will include a brief information questionnaire. You will also be given information to read informing you about confidentiality, as well as office procedures including how to book appointments and the cancellation policy. If you have questions the office staff will be happy to assist you. While waiting for your appointment you are welcome to help yourself to a cup of coffee or tea.
Unless you have been advised otherwise, your therapy “hour” will involve fifty minutes of face-to-face contact with the psychologist or psychological associate. The remaining ten minutes are typically used by the therapist to prepare for the session at the beginning, and for making notes on the session at the end.
After your initial meeting, the psychologist or psychological associate will talk to you about future appointments and will accompany you back to the front desk so that the office staff can facilitate this. You will also be given a written copy of your schedule if you are returning for more appointments. If you have any questions or concerns after your appointment, you are welcome to contact us.
